I am not sure if I overdid it with the spatters. For some reason I am obsessed adding spatters to my paintings 😄. I used micron pen for the outline and shading.
This is my first try using canvas to paint my whimsical face using watercolors and gelatos. I usually paint my faces on watercolor and mixed media papers because it’s much easier to blend the colors. It’s not perfect but I like how this turned out.
Please check out https://society6.com/joannajeannecreation for more items. I think this is the first watercolor pattern that I created. I used micron pen to outlined the leaves and flowers. It is suppose to be a watercolor practice and it turned out nice and decided why not create a pattern. I am so excited. Love the colors.
Hello! It’s been a while since I posted something on my blog and I apologize. I’ve been busy designing patterns. Anyway, I always wanted to learn how to paint with watercolors to add to my mixed media projects. So I did some research on what watercolors to buy. According to some of the artists they recommend Kuretake and Holbein watercolors. So I bought both Kuretake and Holbein and I like the vibrancy. I watched tutorials on YouTube and I’ll tell you it’s not easy as it looks. I’m having a hard time controlling how much water to add to the watercolor. I always adding too much water and ended up ruining my design.
Before I get started on a project I mixed colors first to see what it will look like on paper. I created a mixed color guide to help me decide what colors to use. I also practiced my brush strokes by blending colors from darker to lighter.
I think jellyfish are the easiest to paint so I decided to give it a try. I am happy how my jellyfish turned out. The colors are more vibrant and intense. I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
