Tea Cups Canvas with Dylusions Paints + Acrylic Paints + Distress Inks

fullsizerender1-copyHi all! I love how this tea cups canvas turned out. First off, I would like you all to know that I didn’t exactly use a canvas for this project instead I used a gift box lid as a canvas. I tell you it works great and you can’t even tell that it’s just a box lid. I applied white gesso first on the base before I started applying colors to the background. It took me almost a week to get this done because I can’t get the background color to come out right. I planned out everything on what I wanted to do with this piece and even did a sketch but it turned out not good at all. I put it aside and then the next day I worked on it again using different dylusions paints and acrylic paints until I am satisfied with the background. I also used BoBunny Rough It Up Stamp, Ring Cluster Stencil from Simon Says Stamp, torn Scrapbook papers and distress crayons for the background. I don’t have any tea-cup dies so I hand drawn them and cut it with scissor and stacked them up. For the leaves, I used Leaf Column Background Die by Simon Says Stamp and color them using distress inks and highlight the leaves using white gelly roll pen. I want that smoke effect coming out from the cup so I used the swirl die from Sizzix which I think turned out good. To finish up my canvas I added words from Tim Holtz idea-ology Big Chat stickers. I hope you like it and thank you for looking.
