Art Journal Using Grocery Paper Bag

Hello everyone! I have so much grocery paper bags and I am running out of space in my craft room. Instead of putting it in a recycling bin I made a journal book out of it. I used seven paper bags and glued it together to make a book. So if I want to practice or try out some new products I use my paper bag journal. Before you start using acrylic paints or any other paints you use, apply gesso to the paper first so that the ink would not soak through the pages. I had so much fun creating this one and it doesn’t have to be perfect. I hope you like it and thank you for looking.

Greetings! I like collecting box lids because they are easy to work with and much cheaper. So I will admit that I am a lid hoarder….LOL. This mix media canvas was created from a box lid. I would say that I am happy with it but I think I can do much better. Like for example the butterflies, I used perfect pearls to color them and it didn’t turned out the way I expected. It was my first time to try perfect pearls by ranger so I need to learn more how to use them. I like the pearlescent effect it gives. The butterflies are made from chipboard and I painted them with white gesso and applied perfect pearls. For the sentiments, I used my silhouette portrait machine to cut out the letters and applied distress ink. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

First, I applied gesso to the canvas and blended some dylusions paints until I am satisfied with it.

I splattered some acrylic paints on the canvas to make it more interesting.

Next, I adhered some torn up patterned papers and distressed the edge with paper distressing tool. I applied distress ink on the papers but I couldn’t get the effect that I am going after.

So when distress ink didn’t work, I tried applying black marble and squeezed orange dylusions paints around the sides of the canvas and on the scrapbook paper. I am very pleased of the outcome.

I also stamped the top, bottom and sides using rough it up stamp from bobunny and outlined it with black marker.

Hi everyone! I had fun creating this tag/bookmark. I love how the background colors blend together. The tag is from Tim Holtz Alterations tag collection from Sizzix (2 3/8in x 4 3/4in). I used dylusions paints from Ranger ink for the background and splatter some black, white, blue, red, and yellow acrylic paints to add interest. Dylusions paint are blendable and dries quickly to a matte finish which I like and the fun part is using my fingers to blend the colors. Instead of smoke coming out from the chimney I stenciled star shapes using texture paste and used my kids star stencil. For the house, I used textured cardstock and applied acrylic paint and stenciled it with texture paste using Tim Holtz layering stencil. I also added sentiment stickers from Tim Holtz idea-ology. For the final touch I outlined the house, stars, and sentiments to make the whole thing pop. I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Friday everyone! Today I would like to share with you a birthday card that I made for a friend. I like creating handmade cards for love ones because it is more meaningful to the recipient and more attractive than the ones you buy at the store. I also like receiving handmade cards because of so much love that they put into it. Every handmade cards are a work of art. For this card I applied textured paste by using Bricked Stencil from Tim Holtz collection. I used my silhouette portrait to cut my butterfly and applied distress ink. To make the card more interesting I added layers of torn scrapbook papers and burlap ribbon. I also added some flower embellishments and decided not to color the flowers and leave it as is. For every project I’ve done, I always love to add a splatter of colors as my final touch. It gives it more like a grungy look. Thank you for looking. 🙂

Tea Cups Canvas with Dylusions Paints + Acrylic Paints + Distress Inks

First off, I would like you all to know that I didn’t exactly use a canvas for this project instead I used a gift box lid as a canvas. I tell you it works great and you can’t even tell that it’s just a box lid. I applied white gesso first on the base before I started applying colors to the background.
